With all 150 tickets sold out, the event brought together a diverse group of professionals to share and expand their knowledge on the microbiome and its role in health, ecosystems, and innovation. The Dutch Microbiome Day 2025 was a great symposium of science, innovation, and community. Bringing together 150 participants, a mix of students, researchers, professors, and industry professionals, the event offered a unique platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration within the microbiome field.
From inspiring presentations by experts to a dynamic poster walk showcasing cutting-edge research, every element of the day reflected the growing energy and enthusiasm around microbiome science. The event was marked by lively discussions, valuable networking moments, and a shared passion for understanding the complex world of microbes.
The audience was enthusiastic, engaging deeply with the content and contributing to a warm, curious, and collaborative atmosphere. Thanks to all participants, speakers, and organizers, the first edition of Dutch Microbiome Day was not only a success, it was the beginning of a new tradition.
Dutch Microbiome Day 2026 is taking place on the 11th of June in Groningen.
At the first Dutch Microbiome Day, we hosted an inspiring poster walk where attendees explored nearly 40 research posters covering a wide range of microbiome topics, from innovations in agriculture to the critical first three months of a child’s life.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions, listened to impactful pitches, and connected across disciplines in a vibrant and collaborative atmosphere.
